Rydges Esplanade is a 4.5 star Resort set amidst lush gardens, with views from the mountains to the Coral Sea. The hotel is centrally located on the Esplanade along the famous Cairns foreshore. Accommodation options range from hotel rooms to self-contained 2 bedroom apartments with access to tennis courts, swimming pools, outdoor heated spa, a fully equipped Health Club and a Business Centre. Broadband internet access is available in some of the rooms and in all of the conference rooms. Full breakfast can be included with your room reservation at a discounted rate. Conference room rates include all taxes and are available for dates pre- and post-conference if you choose to extend your stay.
The hotel is an easy 10 minute walk to the main restaurant and shopping district in Cairns. There is also a restaurant in the hotel which serves offers a buffet and ala carte menu.
Room rates: In support of the conference Rydges Esplanade has offered very competitive room rates for our delegates. A standard hotel room (1st three floors) is AU$129 per night, a mountain view room is AU$139 per night and an ocean view room is AU$149 per night. Two bedroom apartments are also available starting at AU$249 per night. All reservations also include the option of adding on breakfast. Rydges Esplanade is offering the discounted rate of AU$15 per person for breakfast (reduced from $25). Although you are free to consider other accommodation options you will find it difficult to beat the deal being offered by Rydges Esplanade. The rates offered are also good for dates before and after the conference period.
We have not reserved a block of rooms for delegates so we recommend you reserve a room early. This requires a credit card to secure the booking, but no payment is made until final checkout after the event. In order to help the hotel finalise arrangements for our group please make a booking by 7 April 2010 if you intend to stay at the conference venue and wish to take advantage of the conference rates. Basic hostel to self contained units. Prices range from AU$35-85 per night. The Castle is located directly across the road from Rydges Esplanade.

Share dorms (4-6 people) for AU$22 per night to single (AU$42) and double (AU$57) rooms ($70 with ensuite). The Caravella is short 1-2 blocks from Rydges Esplanade.
